June 22nd, Letter

Hey whats up!

Man its been a long week! Ive mostly been working on getting new apartments for transfers. Elder Moyer who is our housing coordinator is on the vacation for the week. (the week before transfers) So it was pretty much left up to me to get 9 apartments in a week, that can be ready to move in to by next week. So i was calling apartment people like crazy and filling out rental applications. It was pretty nuts. I talked to a few jerks who were really hard to work with and i also worked with some really nice people that made things alot easier for me. Its kind of hard to find an apartment for missionaries, cause the landlords aren't used to a corporation being the one to rent an apartment. A lot of them dont like that it wont just be the same people living in the apartment all year, instead they will be coming in and out and switching missionaries. So its definitely been a challenge. President and the Assistants finished up with deciding transfers on Friday and they assigned 2 companionships to 2 apartments i've only applied for. so hopefully those work out and i will be able to get the Lease's signed early next week. But yeah its been nuts. I've never sent so many Faxes in my life, or been on the phone so much. And all of these new apartments cost money so ive printed a lot of expensive checks this week.
Funny thing is, President just told me we will need 13 new apartments next transfer! jeez.
I can't believe it's so close to the Houses, Baileys and Schaefermeyers leaving. They are mostly all packed. The houses and Baileys will head out Wednesday. President will spend a couple hours with President Anderson on Friday and then he will leave.  Pres. A called the office this week and asked for the logo that i made, so that Sister Anderson could put it on a quilt see is making. Pretty cool eh?
So i think i told you who i met last sunday... Us and the assistants were walking up the street from our car to church. And this car pulls up and rolls down the window. It was President & Sister Schaefermeyer. We said hey! President was grinning then he rolled down the back window and there was Elder Hallstrom. It was pretty weird to see a person that im normally only see on a TV screen. President said come shake his hand! So we all walked over and shook his hand and told him where we were from.  We talked a little bit and then they headed off. He was here to give President his Exit Interview. They also went and toured the Philly temple site.
So we are getting 30 new missionaries next week! 4 of them are Visa Waiters. This time we are renting a trailer to hook to the truck to put all the luggage in. We will have two 12 passenger vans like usual, plus our van and some other cars. It will be Presidents last group of Goldens. But he isn't going to get pictures with each of them cause they won't know him as "their" President. I got a pic of the Senior couples with their gifts we gave them. They all really really liked them. President said he realized it must of taken a lot of time.
Ok time to move on. So we had a pretty good P Day yesterday. We drove down to Cape May, NJ. We went down cause the Ross' a Senior couple down there are also leaving Wednesday. So we had to go pick up their king size bed. But we figured we should do something fun while we were down there. I dont know if you have heard of cape may before, but its a vacation town, Its right on the coast. Its pretty nice. so we met up with the Ross' at a beach/park that also has a light house. Then we walked around, walked on the beach. There was a big concrete bunker from WWII So we looked at that, got some pics of the light house. Then they took us to this other beach where it was like all smooth pebbles instead of sand. It was pretty cool. Then we drove over to the board walk. They head home and me and Elder Prestwich walked down the board walk and looked at the stores. After we were done we drove to the Ross' home and picked up their mattress. Sister ross gave us cake and ice cream. Then we drove back to Broomall! It was nice! We were able to wear regular clothes and to get some sun! We got back to the office and worked on some transfer stuff with the Assistants. There was a wedding at the broomall Building. It was actually a member of the Logan ward that I knew when I served in the Olny Area. They ended up giving us a lot of extra food they had from the wedding.
Well I've got to go! I will try to tell you more next week!

Cya,
Elder Jeremy Jensen
