Hey y'all
Alright here goes my
random all over the place letter.
So Saturday after our
P Day we had a lesson with our new investigator Dan. It went pretty good!
Started teaching him the Restoration. He is Hailey B Friend a member of
our YSA. They are going to school here in Philly. He is accepting everything
pretty well so far. Right after that we drove into center city. Because we were
going to Chloe's Ballet at a theater down there. We were going cause we are
supposed to teach on of her friends that dances with her. Anyways we were about
a block away and we were looking for parking. We passed a good spot so we were
going to turn around I took a right onto a really narrow one way. Well we
entered the road and it got really tight and we got stuck between the two
curbs. Then we heard a lot of air coming out of something. And i said, i hope
that's not our wheel. Well i looked out my window an our front left tire was
flat! And our Rim was all scratched up and not looking good. We were already
running late and we were right by the theater! We had no idea what to do, we were
in Downtown, center city. The back of our van was almost sticking out into
broad street the main road that goes right down the center of Philly. We were
blocking a sidewalk that lots of people were walking down and we were about to
be late for the ballet. We had people swearing at us cause they had to walk
around our van. And even worse we couldn't find our spare tire anywhere!! since
our van has the seats that fold into the floor there is no room for the spare
tire. So we later learned that it was hidden in the front of the van between the
two seats, and you have to go through this complicated process to get it out.
It was a mess. We called the AP's cause they were nearby and they helped us
out. It took about an hour to get it fixed. Then we parked and were able to get
into the ballet. We were only 30 Min's late. The ballet was... interesting but
good.
Sunday was pretty
cool. It was a busy day. We went to broomall ward for sacrament then went to
our ward council in Philly. Then we drove over to Medford for Steve Parkers
Baptism. It was really cool to be there, I sat by the Mass Family. I got to see
most of my favorite people from Medford. I couldn't believe Steve was getting
baptized!! We had a really good time there. Then we drove back home. Then us
and the Assistants went over to the Holloways for dinner with the Smuins. We
had a really good time over there. We have awesome Senior Couples!!
Since this is a
random letter i will just skip to this. So im pretty sure Elder Smuin will be
replacing me as the Financial Secretary. He was a CPA back home so it just
makes sense. Ive talked to him and president about it. And i will start to
train him next week. So I'm pretty sure ive just got one more transfer here in
the office. We had our interviews this week, so we talked a little about that.
We had Golden
Re-Trainings this week. There were 3 of them and we went to two of them. - one
in Nazareth, PA and Philly. We helped with the lunch for them.
Let's see, on
Wednesday Elder Moyer came in and and we reviewed all of our apartments. We are
now paying almost $90,000 a month for all our apartments! crazy huh! And i have
to find and set up 9 apartments before August 4th... I will be signing the
first lease for all of those today. Going to look at an apartment in Downtown
Philly on Monday.
I'm jealous that you
get to go to the Schaefermeyers Homecoming tomorrow! There are going to be sooo
many people there. RM's are driving to it from everywhere! Elder Fredrickson is
going to be there so make sure you meet him!
Let's see, so next
week i will be busy finding apartments and making lots of phone calls. I've
been continuing to work on organizing my workspace and making everything
efficient. I worked on perfecting the Mission Logo. I created a sweet new fb
cover and profile pic for the mission fb. It looks pretty good, i will send it to
you. I'm pretty proud of it. Transfers is in two weeks, it's insane how fast
time goes by. I feel like I'm just now starting to recover from the last
transfer... crazy stuff.
Well have a great
week! It's good to hear from you! Maybe you could post something on my fb about
me coming home soon and to email me or write me. put my missionary email and
mailing address on there!
Byeeeeeeee!
-Elder Jeremy Jensen
