May 11th, 2013

Hey yo was sup.                                                                                May 11, 2013
OH man I am super busy. So hopefully this letter makes sense because I have a ton of stuff going through my head.  So last Sunday we had Stake Conference, but it was a little different because it was a broadcast from Salt Lake but multiple stakes in the eastern area watched it. So isn't that called a regional conference or something like that? Anyways we had Pres. Uchtdorf and some other people speak. It was pretty good. They talked a lot about Families and missionary work. Monday we went to Philly again with our district. We went and saw the sports stadiums in South Philly. We could only get into the gift shops so it was a little lame. Then we went to a pretty popular Philly Cheesesteak place called Gooey Looeys. Wednesday the Houses took our whole district plus the Assistants to Olive Garden. So that was pretty cool, we haven't been there in a long time. It was really nice of them. Thursday we had District meeting. We had the Baileys that night for coordination and dinner. It was our last time going over. Friday was really long and crazy. In the morning I had to call a bunch of landlords for our new apartments to see if they would let us drop off beds early in the apartments. Then I had to write some checks for them. Then we split up all the mattress runs with our district. I and Elder Prestwich drove all the way to Scranton to drop off beds. It was a pretty long drive. Scranton is not close. We were pretty much driving all day. But now I can say I’ve been to Scranton! On the way home we stopped to see the Houses from Milford, because we were really close to their house! So we went over and they got pizza and we got to eat with them and talk. I’m glad I was finally able to see them again.
Ok so that was a short summary of some of the things we did this week. Now here is all the other stuff that involves transfers.
Monday we had our Staff meeting, President & Sister Schaefermeyer were there, along with the Assistants and office couples. We discuss how everything about transfers will work. We go over calendar items etc. So we have 31 new missionaries flying in on Tuesday! That’s the most we have ever got! 4 of those are Visa waiters that will eventually go to other missions. We only have 12 missionaries going home. We are opening 8 apartments I think. President said next transfer we will open about 7 new areas, and about 10 new the transfer after that! That’s crazy! So I’ve been busy all week helping to get everything figured out with these new apartments, making sure they all get paid etc. The church is doing a big update to their financial system starting Wednesday until about the end of May, and so during that time we won’t be able to make any transactions or pay anyone. So I’m going to have tons of bills stacking up waiting to be paid its going to be crazy. So Monday and Tuesday are my last days to get anyone paid that needs money anytime soon. I’ve got a ton of bills to pay right now. We spent $5,700 on new mattresses this week! We are 100% over budget for new mattresses this year because of all the new missionaries. President gave us permission this week to buy new monitors for our computers! We were very happy because we've been trying to get them for a while. So we got some pretty nice new ones for a good deal. I also bought a pretty nice new printer for our office yesterday. So I’ve got some good stuff to work with here.
Let’s see... So we are officially switching to the YSA next week. That will be interesting! It will be soo different! We’re going to be in the city a lot more I think. There are going to be lots of changes this transfer. Elder Lindsley who is one of the Assistants is going home next week. I’m pretty sad about that because he's really cool. I never thought I would be friends with a Lone Peak Knight! Anyways so Elder Cannon will be getting a new companion, and he will be taking over as the "experienced" AP. This will be presidents Last Transfer!! Man I can't believe it.
Oh yeah and as you know I finished re-designing the mission logo this week. Everyone loves it! President likes it a lot. I think it turned out really good. I will send it to you. I can now say I designed my school and mission logo. We are probably going to blow up the logo big and frame it and hang it up in the Office. So transfers are on Tuesday. We have to drop off the departing missionaries at the airport at 5am that morning. It will be a long day!  It will be pretty cool to see Kenzie! I told Sister Hall that I would get pictures for her.
Let's see I’m trying to think if there is anything else to tell you. I can't wait to video chat with you guys tomorrow that will be cool. Yeah so I think that's about it!
Happy Mother’s Day Mom!! Sorry I didn’t send a card! I’ve been so busy this week, I just didn’t have time. Have a great week!

Loves,
Elder Jensen
