April 20th, 2013

Hey! April 20, 2013

How is everyone? We had a decent week, got lots done. We’re not as busy as when I first got here, but we definitely stay busy and always have something to do. One of the best parts of the week - We got all of our Office Computers replaced this week! Nothing better than brand new fast computers! I guess they get replaced with new mission presidents. So they came on Wednesday and we had them all set up and ready to go by that night. Since we have a network external hard drive it made it super easy to copy everyone’s files over to the new computers.

I’m just going to talk about some things we did this week.

We saw the Dixons last night, and the lesson went pretty well for teaching kids. We were able to set Taft (12 years old) with a baptism date of May 9th. His sister Jess said it sounded hard. She acts like she's super un-interested. She's really hard to read and we can't figure out what she's thinking while were teaching them. Anyways, Taft is doing really well, he reads when we ask him to and he should be at church again on Sunday. We haven’t seen the Armstrong’s yet this week, hopefully tomorrow after church. We are having an activity tonight at the church called "International Night" used to be called Korean night. But the ward has it every year and I guess it’s a pretty big event. The main food served is Korean food, but they also have people bring food from other countries. The Armstrong’s and Dixon’s should be there hopefully. We weren't able to see Moylan this week. We did have 2 appointments set up but they had to cancel both. Because Sister Plaice, his Fiancé, was out of town and they want to take the lessons together. Mom- if he ends up being ready for baptism sooner than the date we set him with then we just talk to him and tell him we think that he will be ready sooner and set a new closer date. We will see, it all depends on how fast we can teach him.

Yup! I talked to Elder Seeley’s Dad on the phone this week, he had a few questions. He asked me what my Mom’s name was and he said that his wife had talked to you. And I told him my Mom had said something about talking to Elder Seeley’s Mom. Anyways he said he would tell her so that she could tell you. Kind of cool. Just so you know I have checked and it's definitely possible to get an email sent to the new missionary’s parents to inform them that the group has arrived at the mission home. I’m going to talk to Sister House about it.

Oh on Sunday me and Elder Prestwich were asked last minute to give talks in sacrament meeting. The ward mission leader was supposed to talk but he got sick. We didn’t have to talk for very long and they just wanted us to talk about missionary work and the restoration. So it was pretty easy and went very good. President and Sister Schaefermeyer were there and they both told us we did very good.

We did hear about the 2 explosions this past week. We had some people tell us and it was also all over Facebook.

Tuesday we did stuff with cars all day. We have about 7 or more cars for sale right now in the mission. And a guy from the mission department was here last week and suggested that we make a blog/website to advertise the cars. So Tuesday we got the cars all washed and looking nice. And I had the idea to bring them to the mission home to take the pictures instead of taking them in the parking lot. So we got pictures of all of them in front of the mission home. And we put a blog together.

We've been working on our phone reports project a lot lately. Elder Bailey has built a program that analyzes all the info from Sprint on our phone usage that tells us if missionaries have called home or not etc. and if they are calling outside of their zone. Or if they have really long phone calls etc. But I had to type in all the missionaries’ parents cell phone numbers this week, which took a while. It’s pretty cool.

Well I think that’s mostly it. I think we decided were going to go to Valley Forge Park next Saturday. If I get to it, I should be sending an SD card home with tons of pictures on it. I realized I haven’t sent one home for a while. I’m not sure if I’m going to print any out because it would be expensive for me and I would have to go through them all. I might just name the pictures on the computer of who the people in the pictures are...

Well were on week 4 of 6 starting Monday. Haha so it’s getting close to transfers again. We’re opening 6 new apartments this time.

Loves,

Elder Jeremy Jensen
