August 30th Letter

Hey Everyone,

Man it's been a crazy week. We had a lot going on. 4 Zone Conferences!!!! All over the Mission. I gave one presentation 11 times! and one other one 4 times. I upgraded 37 new phones, answered lots of questions, lost a lot of sleep, took a lot of pictures, and drove a lot. I'll explain a little later.

I can't really remember the beginning of the week. Anyways, so i got to meet Elder Hallstrom again. He came last Sunday to meet with President, he went to the Broomall sacrament meeting and then met with the Anderson's for 4 hours and had dinner with them. Then they dropped him off at the airport at 4pm. Then President had his meeting with all the Stake Presidents right after. I guess it went pretty good, he showed them all the new reports and talked about the new things we were going to start tracking etc. He said it went really good. We had a pretty good time Sunday night. the YSA is having a new thing called "dinner groups" instead of munch and mingle. So we went over to Hailey's house. She is roommate's with Amanda the assistants investigator, and Alli another member. They all live together and are awesome. But they had a lot of people over there from the YSA and invited us. They grilled up a bunch of stuff, had a lot of really good food and we had a good time!

 Then Monday morning we went over to President's house and they cooked breakfast for us and the Assistants! We had a good time with them and went over our plans for zone conf. The rest of Monday we were just doing our usual Mission Stats stuff and getting everything ready for Zone Conf.  I also started showing Elder Larson how to do Mission stats since he will start doing it once i am no longer in the office. Ok this is where our Zone Conferences were this week. Tuesday: Nazareth, PA. Wednesday: Philadelphia. Thursday: Broomall. Friday: Dover, DE

We stayed up pretty late most of the week getting things ready for the next day. And woke up early to drive to all of them. Cause they start at 9am. There is a ton of work that goes into zone conf. I made 2 PowerPoint's. President had me train everybody on the Key Indicators and all the new changes. We also announced that we will start to track reactivation's with less actives. Then i gave a Facebook Training presentation with the Assistants. I will send ya the PowerPoint's they looked really good. It was my last time getting to do all of that. Oh something else i did on Monday and last week, All of our District & Zone leaders have Binders for their responsibilities, accountability and keeping track of numbers etc. Anyways they are all super out of date, and everyone has all different stuff in theirs and different shapes and sizes of binders. So I've been working on updating almost all of the sheets, forms and everything we use in our mission. Made them all look good, put the new mission logo on them, updated them with the most current info. And at Zone Conference through out the week we switched our everyone binders and papers etc. At zone conference we had Bro. & Sister Carr come and talk to everyone. They are the missionary couple on the Temple site. He is also the contractor guy for the church for the Temple. And they came and gave a presentation to all the missionaries each day. Ive seen it a couple times cause we've had them come and do it for some of our leadership meetings recently. The finish date for the temple right now is Spring 2016. Remember when it was going to be right as i was going home? I don't know if you've seen the pics but they are making a lot of progress on the parking garage below. Our mission designed and ordered 20,000 pass along cards with the pic of the Philly temple on them. And guess whats on the back?? My logo!! cool huh? I will send some home to ya.
Anyways so yeah, it was a pretty long and exhausting week. But it was lots of fun, and good to see everyone to cool to be so involved. We got to sit on the stand with President and the Assistants for all of the Conferences. President called us the Office Assistants.   Pres. and the AP's haven't decided where they want new area's for next transfer yet, and that's in two weeks. So they are deciding tonight. Then next week i will have to start looking for places that will be available in time for transfers. yay.... I'm going to spend a lot of time next week training Elder Smuin and the AP's. Ive got a lot of instructions to type up etc. We officially got another Office Couple called to our Mission. Guess what day they will be here??? October 26th hahaha. 2 days before i leave!!! The Anderson's have some friends from back home that just got their calls to our Mission, so they should be here soon as well.
Well that's pretty much the jist of whats going on. Dan's baptism in a week, holy cow!! man that's crazy! It's next Sunday i think, right after Stake Conf.
