Oct. 22nd, 2012

Hey Waz sup?                                                                                                                  Oct. 22, 2012

So I am getting transferred from Milford. I’ve been here since the end of June. I was a little surprised; I thought I would be here for a while. I found out Friday night that I was leaving, and I was pretty sad. There are some really nice people here that I have met, and it will be hard to leave them. Well we had a busy week so I will start telling you about it. Monday - We went bowling with the House's, we haven’t done that for a while. We were supposed to teach Chelsi, the lady I told you we met by knocking on her a door a couple weeks ago. But she forgot about the appointment and was busy. So we saw the Seguine's instead that night. Tuesday - We visited a lot of potentials in the morning and then we went over and helped Bro. Hinkel. We helped him put the sides to his jeep back on along with some other stuff. Later we went and helped Trisha take the AC units out of her windows. I also helped her mostly finish up her art website, we made a FB page and Google + for her business too! :) Wednesday - We helped Bruce in the morning. His floor looks so good! All the boards are cut and laid down, and we have glued most of them together so they won’t move. Now were just waiting for the nails he ordered and to stain it. He's starting another project; he's going to make a workbench. So we sent some more old wood through the planer to clean and square them up. Later we stopped by a potential that wasn’t home so we knocked a couple of her neighbors doors. We ran into this super nice lady that came out and talked to us. Her religion is Bahai, which I had never heard of, but I guess it was founded around the same time as the restoration but in Iran. Anyways we talked about each other’s beliefs and they actually are really similar to ours! She said her church encouraged them to learn about other religions and find what’s right for them, so we gave her a Book of Mormon and a restoration pamphlet. Then we went over to the Waters for dinner, that was good as usual. Then we went over to the Seguines and watched Mountain of the Lord with them. Thursday - Had district meeting, we took our group District Picture just in case. Good thing we did. One missionary in our District is also going home, but everyone else besides him and me are staying. That night we had some of our appointments cancel, but we were able to catch a less active home that we hadn't met before and he let us in. He had the new iPhone 5! So I got to hold it and play around with it! haha. Friday - In the morning we worked on our Finder Binder, its almost done and looks really good! Over the last few months we have been working to get a current status on all the members especially the Less Actives. This last week I got an excel sheet of the Branch directory and typed in everything we know about all the people we have visited. Guess what else we have found out from visiting everyone, 39 out of the 150 listings on the Branch directory have either moved or wrong addresses!! Crazy huh? Ok after that we helped Bruce with some more stuff for a little. Then that night Brother and Sister Waters came out teaching with us to two of our appointment! We first saw Kathy. We talked about her becoming active again; we tried to ask her what was getting in the way. But she couldn’t answer she said she didn’t know... Ugh I always leave super confused. We don’t know what she needs or what’s stopping her from coming. But we watched the recent Elder Bednar talk from Conference about conversion and testimony. The waters did Great for both appointments!! After Kathy we saw the Coull's. We taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So we taught about faith and repentance then read 2 Nephi 31 for the rest of the principals. And like I said the waters were awesome! We had a really good lesson with the Coulls. Oh I also found out that I was getting transferred that night. I also didn’t sleep very well that night, because I was all anxious about being transferred etc. Saturday - We saw Gary in the morning. Our appointment was a little disappointing. He refuses to give up his coffee, and he is now telling us that he thinks God is made up and a bunch of weird stuff like that. He's gone a little downhill since we first started seeing him. But he said he would come to church next Sunday, and the missionaries are going to keep going over.  The rest of the morning we stopped by Less Actives. We went over the Hillmans for dinner that night. I was able to get pictures with them. After that we went over to the Seguines and watched the Emmaus Halloween parade. Which was really cool.  Oh I also cut my hair, I cut it a little shorter then it’s been for a while, about how long it was when I left for the Mish. I think it looks really good. We had a good night/day I was able to start packing a little and see some people to say good-bye. Sunday - Had church, the Coulls didn’t come we don’t know why. Gary couldn’t make it. Oh and the reason I blessed the sacrament last week was because they were short on YM. I’ve done it before here. Like yesterday my companion helped pass. I was able to get pictures with a lot of the members, gave thank you cards to people, and handed out my "missionary business card".  Which a lot of people like by the way. After church we met up with Bruce and Trisha and got pictures with them. Then we had our halftime, I packed. Man those space bags are a huge lifesaver!! After that we went over to the Haws to visit and get a picture. Then we went over to the Glasers for dinner. I got a tour of their 200 year old home. Which is really nice, and I got pictures of the Barn for Mom. After that we went over to the Crawfords, visited with them and got pictures etc. It was a good day and I got to see most of the people I wanted to see. Oh and Sis. Messier came to church also! She found that new "The District" show on BYUTV and she loves it too. We thought that it was pretty cool/funny they made that into a TV show. Because like I told mom, we have been using those videos for training since I was in the MTC. It’s pretty cool! Oh and the Waters talked in Sacrament and they did great!! Well that was the week! I’ve got lots of pictures of the leaves, people/members, got a video tour of the apartment etc. I’m sending a package home with stuff I don’t have room for. I’m bummed that I’m going to have my Birthday with strangers..  I am a little nervous/sad about getting transferred. But I guess I’m needed somewhere else. So mom you told me how the number of Missionary applications went up from 600 to 3,500 a week. Well i just saw that it’s up to 7,000!!! And I have heard from 2 girls from home that are leaving on missions! Man this missionary age thing is crazy!!! The total missionary number is going to go waaaay up! Elder Cannon is also getting transferred by the way.
Oh don’t know if I told you but Dawn Mass is getting Baptized Nov. 9th!!!!!! YAY so excited!! It's going to be awesome! And Kevin is going to Baptize her!! I got the B-Day card from you and the Boyack’s. And yes I’m waiting to open them. I hope no one sends b-day stuff to my old address after I leave. Well I will let you know where I get transferred to asap. I’m going to miss this area; I’ve worked hard on a lot of stuff here! And the area is sooooo much better then when I got here!
Hope you have a great week!!!
