Hey!
Ok where to start? So it was a good week, but we didn't have a ton really happen. Right now me and my companion are working on making our sweet "finder binder". We’re mapping out Everyone in our whole area that we would ever need to get in contact with. So once this thing is done, were going to go through the entire list of our less actives and try to visit them all, as well as all of our former investigators. It’s going to be pretty shweet!
So we were able to meet with Patricia twice this week. She was in the hospital again over the weekend so she wasn’t able to make it to church...
Oh so for those who don't know. My mission is one of 7 Facebook Missions. So I was given permission to start using Facebook this past week. Here is what we tell people when they ask about us using Facebook:
You may be wondering "Why are our missionaries on Facebook? Shouldn't they be working?" and so I thought I'd clear that up.
Our mission is one of seven missions in the world that are testing Facebook as a proselyting tool. The purpose is to strengthen less active members, find new investigators, and help members with their missionary work!
We invite you to think and pray about some of the friends you have on Facebook and their needs, we would love to help you share the gospel with them.
There are plenty of online tools for sharing the gospel like Mormon messages and links for conference talks.
We know that the gospel is for all of God's children and as we pray and seek for ways to share the message that brings us so much joy He will show us how to approach them and what to say.
Please at any time message us for help with any of your endeavors as you strive to live the commandment to share the gospel with all the world!
We would love to chat with your friends and answer any of their questions!
Me and my companion were in Mc Donald's the other day eating lunch. And this guy came down and sat by us and said Hey Elders. It was weird cause we had no idea who he was, but he knew that we were missionaries. He was a member of our church visiting New Jersey from Florida for a Business trip. We ate lunch with him and talked for a little bit. He it was pretty cool, but it made me think a little. We always have people watching us and what we do. Anytime we go to Walmart or the library everyone takes a second look at us. It’s kind of funny. But we have to be careful and make sure were always doing what were supposed to be doing... cause you never know who’s watching ;)
We met with our Hindu Family last night. Last time we saw them we gave them a Hindi Book of Mormon. And the father was able to read the first two chapters. So we read a chapter with him and explained to him what was going on in those chapters. We have to talk very simply because everything we tell them is completely new. Even everything about Jesus Christ is new to them. But we had a pretty good lesson with them. Oh and their daughter works at Dunkin' Donuts so she brought us some!
Oh yesterday we were talking to our ward High Councilmen, and he felt bad for us cause we are only getting fed once or twice a week from members. So he is driving up to our area this week and taking us out to lunch at a pretty nice diner! Pretty sweet!
So I got a lot of letters this week! Thanks everybody! It makes me VERY happy when I get letters!
One of my friends mentioned how living around non LDS people has made her really find out what she truly believes in. I've seen the same thing happen while on my mission. Being surrounded by non-members all of the time has made me super grateful for being a member of this church and knowing the things that I know! It really strengthens your testimony when you share it with others!
Hope everyone has a great week!
-Elder Jeremy Jensen :)
