Hey waz sup? Feb.
2, 2013
Well we had another
pretty good and busy week!
So Monday was the
first day that our new way of getting mission stats and numbers in was used by
the Zone Leaders. It worked very well and made things a lot easier! It was a
busy day. President also stopped in the office and had us both come into his
office to go over everything we had been working on so far etc. He also told us
a couple projects he would like us to work on. Other than the office stuff that
day, we went and visited an A/LA (active/less active) member Eric, and were
able to meet with him for a bit.
Tuesday - The Baileys bought us lunch that day from a really good new burger
place that has fry sauce!! We had dinner that night with the Dixons, they are a part
member family - the Dad is a LA member and the 2 sons and 1 daughter aren't
members. The missionaries have been going over forever. The kids are all under
15 and all baptism age. So were going to really try to focus on them. After
that we had another dinner appointment with Bro. Ross, he is the choir
director. He was very excited that all 4 missionaries joined the ward choir. I
was already really full, and then I had to fit in even more food. I was
suuuuper full and sick by the time we finished there.
Wednesday - Worked
more on the phone reports. Brother Cates a guy from our ward invited us over
for lunch at his place. He has this huge house, so he gave us a tour. That night we had one of the young
men take us out - Randy. He and his Brother and Mom are Recent Convert's.
But his dad hasn’t joined yet, but he comes every Sunday. So while we were out
with Randy we tried to get some ideas on how to go about teaching his Dad.
Thursday - We had
Zone training in the morning at the church, and then had interviews with
President after. Mine went well; we talked
about school, and about things we’re doing in the office and in our area. After
that we had to drive a missionary to his Doctors appointment, which took most
of our afternoon. Later we stopped by a few people before going to the Bailey's
for our weekly dinner/coordination meeting.
Friday - Can't
remember a whole lot of what we did in the office, but we had lots to work on
as usual. President is letting us redesign our Missions newsletter that goes
out each week. I’m coming up with a pretty cool design. I don’t know if you've
seen the New Era lately but it looks pretty cool now, and I’m kind of taking
some ideas from that for the design.
Saturday - I cut my
hair in the morning, I cut it pretty short, I like it. Then we had to put our
P-Day on pause and go do some service. There was a member in Philly that was
moving and wanted to donate some furniture to the mission, so we had to drive
over in the truck to pick it up. Then so far after that we've gone shopping and
ate. Then after this I have a lot of letters to write. We still haven't had
much time to fully clean our apartment so hopefully that happens tonight.
Things are going well
in the office and in the area. Slowish in the area, but things are picking up.
Most of the people we are or will be working with are part member families.
Right now we’re still in the office until about 5. But once we start getting
more appointments and things to do in our area we will leave the office
earlier. Oh and I’m pretty sure today marks Month 15...weird huh?
Super Jealous that you’re
getting Elder Ballard at Stake Conference, that’s super cool. I saw some of the
pictures of Grandma's retirement party on FB. Tell her congrats for me. That
thing you sent me about the prayers for the missionaries was pretty
cool. Jared email me about Stu Co stuff!! It's coming up soon! You got any genius
ideas yet?? Fill me in.
Aight well ttyl!
-Elder Jensen
