Elder Jeremy Jensen: June 20th, 2012 Transfer Letter

Wow it’s been a really crazy last few days. So much stuff has changed. First I will tell you about last week then I will talk about transfers.

So I told you a little about setting a date with Kyra Mass last week. It was such an awesome night. We were able to have a really good talk with her and Autumn. Kyra set her date for August 5th!!! I'm sad that I won't be able to make it but so happy that she's made that decision.

We haven't been able to see Patrick lately. He is the 13 year old that is also getting baptized. His date is June 24th. We're thinking that we will have to move his date because it's been so hard to get appointments to teach him and we still have 3 lessons left.

We helped John Bravo a little this week with fixing up his other house he's going to rent out. We helped him put some carpet down in one of the rooms. And then he took us out to eat at a Chinese place that night.

Friday night we went with Kevin's family to Autumns graduation. It was at her schools football field. We had a really good night with their family and got some pictures etc. Then that night when I talked to my District Leader he told me that I was getting transferred... At first we didn't believe him because transfer calls don't usually come on Friday nights. But it was for real, I was getting transferred. I was pretty sad. The next day I started to get some of my stuff ready. I wrote some thank you cards, and printed out pictures that I had got with members and investigators to give them. I was pretty stressed out so me and my companion went to a park just to relax and write in our journals.

Sunday was good! Fathers Day! We didn't have any early meetings. The whole Mass family was there except Autumn because she had to work. And Steve Parker was there too! I got pictures with some of the members and handed out my cards etc. and said good-bye. Then we came home, and I started to pack. Then the Hawkins family invited us over for dinner that night. We had a really good time with them, and got some pictures together.

Monday I did more packing, laundry, printed more pictures etc. Me and Elder Fredrickson were really dreading transfer day. I was busy all day getting all my stuff ready. Kevin drove us to Men's Wearhouse to pick up my new white shirt. Then we had dinner with the Davis'. Then we headed to Kevin's house. We played some games and talked. Then we gave Kyra a blessing because she is having knee surgery on Wednesday. Caitlin gave me a Phillies t-shirt, and her and Kyra both wrote me thank you letters too. I gave the whole family a thank you card, and a framed picture of me and Elder Fredrickson with Kevin and Dawn. Then we said good-bye etc.... and we left. It felt soooo weird leaving their house for the last time. I finished packing that night.

Tuesday morning we woke up, got ready and did some last minute packing and cleaning. We drove to Broomall, PA, which is about 45-50 minutes away. We crossed the Ben Franklin Bridge. We barely got to transfer meeting on time. I was put with Elder McCrae, and Elder Fredrickson was put with Elder Flake. After that we talked to other missionaries for a bit took pictures and stuffed luggage into people's cars. My new area is Milford, PA. I kind of have no idea where it's at, but it's about 70 miles away from my last area. It's a pretty big area and pretty spread out. Lots of trees and farmland... It sounds like there isn't a whole lot going on in the area right now. We don’t really have any investigators, and I guess they do a lot of knocking cause there isn't much else to do. My companion is from Pocatello, ID and he goes home in 6 weeks, which means I will be taking over the area when he leaves. Which makes me even more stressed ;). We do have a car, it's a Chevy Malibu. Oh and it's a branch not a ward.
