3-26-12 Baptism

Hello!
So we had a really good week!!! I had my first baptism on Saturday!!! yay! i will talk about that in a little bit.
On Monday (P Day)  we went over to Kevin's house and hung out with him and taught him. Then we went over to Patricia's house for dinner. She is the one from Dominican Republic.  Were trying to teach her husband Victor, but he only speaks Spanish. But my companion speaks a little Spanish and he has a Spanish translator app that we've been using to communicate with him. After that we went and saw the DiVeces, they are a less active family that were working with. They are really cool, and we see them a lot. Oh and i also got my hair cut on Monday, hair cuts are expensive over here! :)  Tuesday the Wright family invited us over for dinner. That is our ward missionary leaders family, they are pretty cool.  Then on Wednesday night we usually go to the church. So we met with Kevin that night and showed him the baptismal font etc. And showed him how it was all going to work and went over and program. He was really excited! Thursday we had district meeting as usual then i went on exchange with Elder Phelps in the Moorestown, NJ area. Which was fun, we did a lot of service. I got to mow someones lawn! Which i miss doing haha so that was fun. And we chopped a ton of wood for a lady in their ward. Then on Friday, we were able to get in contact with Tony again. I don't know if you guys remember him, but he was one of our really good investigators. But then he had a lot of health issues, and we kind of lost contact wit him for like a month. But we were in the area and stopped by and he let us in, hopefully we will be getting over there more often. Then we had dinner with Kevin and his family. His family is pretty cool and they like us. we got him all prepped for his baptism the next day :) and then we had another dinner with Patrica that night. we were stuffed!
Saturday the big day!! So Kevin asked me to baptize him, and I was super excited and happy. But I was also pretty nervous, cause Kevin is kind of a lot bigger then me. And we were both kind of worried that I would either drop him or not be able to lift him back up out of the water. But it actually was fine, and wasn't as hard as I imagined. Kevin had a lot of family members there! His wife's parents came and some of his siblings etc. And Family friends. Which was way cool. And non of them are members. We had a lot of members from our ward come and support him, They are doing really good at fellow shipping Kevin and his family! When Kevin was confirmed yesterday, he had 12+ people in his circle. They were all people that he requested to be a part of it, because he had got to know them pretty well. My companion said that was the most people he had seen in the "circle" on his mission. So the ward is doing great at helping out with Kevin and his family! We now have to re-teach him now that he's baptized and were going to teach the whole family at the same time. :)
It was a great day, and were very happy for Kevin and his family!!! He's awesome!
So i just found out I will be in this area for another 6 weeks! that good! This will probably be my last 6 weeks in this area though, cause by then I will have been in this area about 6 months which is the norm for staying in areas. It's crazy that I've been out for about 5 months now.. huh??! weird :)
Well that's about it! Hope everyone has a great week, thanks for all the support and letters!
