Dec. 3rd, 2012

Hey how’s it going?                                                     Dec. 3, 2012
Well I had a good and very interesting week. I will start with Monday. After we got all our shopping and usual P day stuff done. We met up with the hunting park missionaries and went down to Center City. We went to the Catholic Basilica. It's right by the Philly temple site. I've been there before but the others hadn't. It's a really cool building. It's really big. The tour guide was a really nice lady, and she had actually been to the Boston temple open house! So she knew a little about our church and what we did in the temples. That night we went over to the Riemchiissels for dinner and a lesson. They are a young couple in our ward. Tuesday - we went on exchange with the zone leaders. I stayed in my area with Elder Ikahihfo. We had a good exchange. We taught Marisol for the first time that morning and we set her with a baptism date for January 13! The night we went over to the Fergusons for dinner (another young couple) I told sister Ferguson that my sister would really like her style. Her house decorations reminded me of Kylee. We had a good time with them, after that we went and taught Akeem. Elder Ikahihfo is over the Young Single Adults here so he convinced Akeem to come to the YSA, which means we can't teach him anymore because he won't be going to our ward. So that stunk. Wednesday morning we switched back companions. We stopped by this lady that had requested a bible a couple weeks ago. She was home and when she answered the door she said she had just been talking about us that morning. She told us that she could tell that we had the spirit with us. We gave her a bible and set up a return appointment with her. Later we taught Shamoya, and then had FHE with Ruby that night. Thursday - we went on exchange with the other pair of missionaries. I was in my area again for the exchange with Elder Taylor; he is our District leader, Friday we had a lesson with a lady named Cynquetta.  She was a referral from Mormon.org. It was our first lesson with her and we brought a couple from church. We had an awesome lesson, she was asking all the perfect questions. We were able to set her with a date for Jan. 20th. She wanted her two boys baptized too but they are too young. We invited her to church and she accepted. After that we switched back companions. We all ate at a cheesesteak place. Then we taught Nick, a recent convert. That night we had dinner with the Green Family. It was Sooo good! Sister green is Jamaican and a really good cook! She is going to make jerk chicken for us next time we come over. Saturday morning us four missionaries helped out with a funeral at the church. We were ushers etc. helped with the clean up and all that. Then that night we tried to visit all the people we wanted at church or needed appointments with. Sunday was a good day. We had our regular early meetings. Cynquetta came to church with her two boys. She had a really good experience at church! The members were great at fellowshipping her. She is also coming to bishops house for FHE tonight!!! And she is going to come to the ward Christmas breakfast on Saturday. She told us later that everyone was very welcoming. After church Brother Walker came out teaching with us. Then we had dinner with him and his wife. They are a really cool, nice couple. We had a good time. They also let us stay to watch the Christmas Devotional. Which was good!! It had been a long day so I was tired while we watched it. It's not on until 8 pm here.
Well that was pretty much our week! It's going to be warm today and tomorrow. In the 60's I love it! I cut my own hair this morning. I've got a ton of Christmas cards to send people. The other missionaries are coming over today to hang out, write letters, make cookies etc.
Have a great week!!!
Elder Jeremy Jensen
