Sup,We had another pretty good week! So Starting with Monday - We did the usual P Day Stuff. A few weeks ago I helped the House kids put together a Kite but we ran out of time to go fly it. So Monday we finally had sometime and it was a nice day, so we went to a park and the kids got to fly the kite. So that was fun. Then I cooked dinner for the House family. I made a spaghetti meal, but I made the sauce from scratch, along with some chicken and garlic bread. It was really good and they all liked it. It felt really good to be able to cook again, since we don’t really have the time or supplies to cook very much at our apartment. Ok last week I explained the whole situation with Leslie and how she kind of dropped us but I was able to call her and she ended up letting us come over Monday night. We had a really good talk/lesson. We got rid of her baptism date so she wouldn’t feel so pressured. But she decided that she still wants to continue to meet with us! And everything is pretty much back to normal. So were going back over tonight to teach the Plan of Salvation, which she is pretty excited about. Then later this week were supposed to give her a church tour and teach her the quit smoking program. Ok, Tuesday - We went over to Danny's house and helped him put the cover on his pool, along with some other stuff. Then we went and taught Kathy about Baptism with Brother Johnson. Then we headed over to Gary's house to help him clean and organize his basement, we also taught him the Plan of Salvation, which went well, and then we had dinner with him, Jen and their friend Kathy. Kathy their friend actually turned into a new investigator because she started asking questions about stuff she had heard on HBO haha and we ended up setting an appointment up with her. So that was pretty cool. Wednesday - We worked on our Finder Binder a little bit in the morning, it’s about halfway done. Later we stopped by a former investigator we had found in our records. The guy was home and it turns out the missionaries had stopped coming over cause of his schedule so we figured out when he was free and set up a time to come over, another new investigator ;) Then that night we went out to eat with the Hess's. Brother and Sister Hess are awesome!! She is the RS President and he is the 1st counselor in the Elders Quorum. They are moving at the end of this month to South Carolina, and they know sooo much about this Branch. They have helped us a ton on getting the background on someone that we’re trying to get in contact with, like Less Actives etc. They have been a huge help, plus they are really cool members. So were really sad that they are leaving! But we had a good time with them. Thursday - Was our District Meeting. We have 2 new missionaries that got transferred to our District. Our new District Leader is Elder Caraway. The other new missionary in our District is Elder McBride and he is from Orem, UT. That night we saw our investigator Peabo (he's Jewish) and had a good visit with him. Friday - We had lunch with Danny, the guy that we do a lot of service for. He took us out to eat at a Chinese buffet. Later we went over to Gary's house and taught him, and..... We set him with a Baptism date of Oct. 21st!! YAY!! After that we went and saw the Coull's who actually just live across the street. Sister Coull is a Less Active member and her husband isn’t a member. So we taught them the Restoration, which went very well. They are both super nice. We told them that we are teaching their neighbor Gary, who they are good friends with, and they thought that was pretty cool. Then we invited them to church and they said it would be cool to go and see Gary there, so they said yes. We had their lesson outside on their deck at night with some candles as our light. So it was kind of a cool lesson/atmosphere. Saturday - We went and helped at that school again. It’s a private school, that doesn’t have a lot of money and they are growing fast and running out of room to put all the kids. So they are relying off of volunteer work to help with all the construction etc. So we were there along with some of the parent and their kids. They had a big common area that they wanted to turn into Temporary Classrooms. So we put together the metal frames and divided the room into four. Then we sheet rocked it also. It was pretty cool to help with it. Everyone there were non-members, so once they found out that we were Mormon Missionaries they were all asking us all kind of questions. It was the first time for a lot of them to meet guys like us. They were all really nice and it was good to talk to all of them and answer questions. That night we saw the Seguines, we finished teaching Lesson 3 The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then Brother Seguine had got a new Android phone that he had no clue how to work. So I helped him get it all set up and working for him. All right, now Sunday - Ok Sunday was a good day! Gary came for his 2nd time!! And The Coulls were there! As well as another Less Active lady that we've been working with was there. So it was really cool to have all those people at church! I was by myself at church yesterday, because Elder Bury went with Brother Johnson to a Mennonite church to give a presentation on our church! Brother Johnson's half sister is a member of that church and they invited him to come tell them about our church. So that was kind of cool. Church was good, we had one of those Old Guy High Priest disagreements during our Priesthood lesson ;) haha. Those are always funny to listen too. After Church we went over to Gary's and taught him. One of the speakers talked about preparing for the Philly temple, so he had all kind of questions about what the temple is etc. After that we had dinner with him, Jen and Kathy. Jen invited Kathy over for dinner again since we will be teaching her. She's doing non-member missionary work for us without even knowing it haha. After that we went over to the Deckers for desert, and had a really good time with them. Today was Brian's Farewell and so we were giving him our last advice etc. The Deckers are awesome! Brian is going to the Portland, OR Mission and enters the MTC next Wed. So that was our week!! Kyra M. is getting Baptized next Sunday Sept 23rd. I’m planning on going! So that will be awesome!! The weather is starting to get a little chilly and I don’t like it at all!!! :) Not looking forward to the winter!! Also I will be 20 in about a month, which is really weird and makes me feel really old. Got a busy day today! I have about 7 letters to write back to people! It’s going to take forever! Have a great week!
Loves, Elder Jeremy Jensen
