Sup!? August

Man it’s been a crazy/busy week! I’ve been so tired at the end of every day, from how busy we've been.
So last Monday we were going to go to Cabela's with Bruce, but he got sick so he couldn’t take us. So we just hung out with the House family instead. We also went bowling with their family that night. We had an appointment with a new investigator that night, but it fell through again for the 3rd time. :( Then we had dinner with the Seguine's. Sister Seguine is a recent convert from February, and they want another review so were going to be re-teaching them the lessons.
Tuesday, we went over to Danny's house, and helped him paint his Chain link fence... yes chain link fence with a roller and paint brush. It takes a while, there are a lot of little places that are hard to reach with the roller and then you have to get each of the (x’s or places where the wires cross) with a paint brush. So we did that for a couple hours. Then we went over to Andy Kings house, we taught him the Plan of Salvation. After that we stopped by a few less-actives in Quakertown. Then later that night we stopped by Trisha's house. She gave me one of the business cards I helped her make that had just come in the mail. Wednesday, we went back over to Danny's to help him with the Fence again. Then we went and taught a recent convert who isn’t coming to church anymore, we think she got a little antied (if that’s a word). So we tried to figure out why she wasn’t coming etc. We were able to get her to agree to let us come over and read the Book of Mormon and do lessons with her, which will hopefully help her out. Then we did some service for the Forsythe family. Then we went over to the Keay's house for dinner, they are an older less-active couple. We are going to try to help the wife quit smoking. Thursday, we had District Meeting. Elder North is our New District Leader. That night we went over to Bruce's and helped Trisha with her website, and they ordered pizza for us. After that we went over to the Kelly's (investigator family). Brother House came with us and he brought his son Marshall to play with their kids, which was a good idea. We had a really good talk with the Kelly's. We tried to figure out their needs and find out exactly where they are at with the church. We’re going to start re-teaching them from the beginning tomorrow.
Friday, we went and taught Brother House's Mom, which went really good. We answered a lot of questions about our church, and we were able to give her a Book of Mormon. She accepted the invite to come to church. So she should be there next Sunday! After that we went and did some service for Bro. Hinkel. We did an inventory of his food storage. Then that night we went over to the Seguines to finish teaching the restoration with them. After we left their house, we saw their neighbor out weeding so we went and talked to her and offered our help. We talked to her for a while, and told her a little about our church, and got to know her. Turns out she's looking for a new church, and since she's getting a little older she wants to start getting back to church and straightening out things in her life. We set up a time to come see her after we see the Seguines this week, and she said she would love to come to our church to see what it’s like. And even better she can get a ride with the Seguines to church! Oh and were also going to teach her the quit smoking program, because she wants to quit. She’s a little skeptical if it will really work or not.
Saturday, we went and helped Bruce and one of his friends out. They are turning this old business building into a school, and there is a ton of work that needs to be done inside. They are putting up new walls and rearranging the layout of the building and it has to be done in 3 weeks. They are relying on volunteers to do the work so that they can save money. So we helped take out some walls with hammers etc. This was pretty fun. Later that day we went to the Glaser’s for dinner. They have this huge event called the Pig Roast. They have a really big property and huge farm, and their house is 260 years old! But they had a ton of people there and tons of food and meat. So that was pretty cool. Then we went and taught Jeffery, he's a member. We were at the very bottom of our area. So it took about 30 minutes to get back home. It was really dark and the GPS took us through all these back roads, because it takes us the shortest distance so we can save miles. So that was interesting. We did a lot of driving that day.
Sunday was good. Our Branch President is moving this week so it was his last Sunday. But it was Elder Bury's first time meeting him. haha. After church we went with Andy to take the Sacrament to an older lady. Then we spent the night in Quakertown. We went over to the Cubbage's for dinner, and had a really good time with them. Then they had a non-member friend that they wanted us to meet. She was over at a concert at the park so we followed them over and talked to her for a little. The concert ended soon after we got there. So the parking lot started to fill up with people. There was a Member from the ward below us that saw us and came over and talked to us. Her name was Nancy Collier. We talked to her for a while. She was a really cool lady (reminded me of Sis. Thomson). She knew and has met President Monson because his daughter Ann Dibb used to live in her ward. She or her daughter would babysit for them sometimes. AND guess what, she knows Orrin Voorhees! When I told her I was from PG and she asked if I knew him, and I said I do, and that I had been over there a couple times with my Mom to help him. She thought that was sooooo cooool. She used to be one of his therapist right after his accident and she taught him how to paint! She used to live in Riverton, UT. So we talked about him for a little and all the stuff she had done with him and his family. It was really cool. So she said to tell you guys when I wrote home to tell you that she knows him and misses his family a lot.
So that’s about it as far as what we did last week, plus probably a little more.
We've been stopping by a lot of less-actives, which for the most part has gone pretty well, and we've been able to get a few appointments with some of them. There is actually an awesome Article in this month’s Ensign about Bringing Less Actives back to church. I can’t remember the name but hopefully you know which one.
AWESOME NEWS!!!
I also just found out that Autumn Mass (Kevin's Daughter) is going to be baptized!!!! September 1st! She just got back from Youth Conference in Jersey, and she had a really good experience, and came back wanting to be baptized. I also found out Steve Parker who I worked with a lot, is getting baptized on Oct. 14th. He's been taught by missionaries for a year and 1/2 plus. So that was some really good news to get. YAYAYAYAYAY!!!
Cool Beans Well thanks for everything. I have a ton of letters to write people today, so i will be busy.
Have a great week!
