Philly Trip, April 23rd, 2012

Hey How's it going?
We had a pretty good past week!
Last Monday we went to Philadelphia!!! It was really cool, we had a lot of fun! There were a lot of other missionaries that came down too! So it was cool to see a lot missionaries around downtown Philly. We drove over to Olney, PA to pick up Elder Callaway (one of Elder Fredrickson's past companions) and Elder Thayne (MTC District). Then we went and ate at Friendly's (its popular restaurant over here). While we were eating a guy came over and said "So Romney got to go to France and you guys are stuck here in Philly?" I was thinking he was just gonna say something dumb about Romney or something. But he was actually pretty nice and talked to us for a little. Then he said that his daughter was wondering if we had an extra "book" we could give her. We said, Yes! so we ran out to the car and got a Book of Mormon and a restoration pamphlet. We went back in and gave it to his daughter (she was about 17) we talked to both of them a little about the Book of Mormon. They are from Pittsburgh and non practicing Catholics.  And got to know them a little. Then we sat back down and finished our meal. The guy came back over to say thank you and goodbye, our waitress came over about the same time to give us our bill. And he said I've got that. We were like no its ok, we can pay for it. And he insisted so we let him pay for it. It was about $40 for the four of us. It was pretty cool. We stayed in the restaurant for a little longer. Then when we walked out he was parked right by the entrance. We could see his daughter reading the Book of Mormon in the passenger seat! :) we said bye to him again and then left. It was super cool!!
Then we headed to Philly. It took forever to find a parking spot, but we did eventually. We first went to LOVE park and then to the Catholic Basilica (right next to where the Temple will be) Then we walked down to the Rocky Steps!! It was pretty cool! Oh and it was super hot! about 90 degree's that day and we were in our white shirts! I got to see a couple of Elders from my MTC district!!! So yeah that's Philly! Interesting place!!
We went over to John Bravo's house this week and helped him finish up cleaning out his pool and yard. It was a really nice day and would have been awesome to take a swim.. But we couldn't...
I went on exchange this week with Elder Atwood, he is from Taylorsville, UT. He is pretty cool and we had a lot of fun on our exchange!
Dawn (Kevins wife) set a baptism date this week!!!!!! for May 20th!!! Were SUPER happy and excited. She has changed so much since we have been meeting with her! At first she was a little skeptical and always had questions. But now she knows its true!! Its a cool story about how she got her answer. So last week she finally stayed for all 3 hours for church. And it went super well! She told us the whole weekend she just kept getting small answers and going to church kind of just did it for her! Kevin and Dawn are gonna be going down to the DC temple soon to visit the visitors center! And Kevin is gonna be the one to baptize her!!
On Friday we had interviews with President Schaefermeyer, it went good!!  President is awesome! and so is his wife! they are really cool and funny and care a lot about the missionaries in our mission! President asked me how I've changed so far on my mission. I told him i think i have definitely matured more! and my testimony has grown a ton!! He also added that I'm talking more haha. Can you believe I've almost been out for 6 months!!??
Crazy!! So transfers are coming up on May 8th and there is a really good possibility that i could leave this area :( which I'm sad about. But i will find out for sure on May 5th. So if anyone is gonna write me a letter close to that weekend either wait to here if I'm leaving or not or send it to my mission office addresss: 721 Paxon Hollow Rd. Ste. B    Broomall, PA 19008
Well that's about all I've gotta say!! hope everyone has a great week!!! i love getting letters - thanks to everyone that has been writing me!! I heard from Elder Zach Harris is last week! He's in NY!!!
-Love Elder Jensen
