Hey Everyone!
Hope you all had an awesome Christmas! I did! It was definitely very different then being home for Christmas but it was good.
Christmas Eve we didn't really have any appointments so we just stopped by some members and knocked a lot. Then that night the Wright Family (our Ward Missionary leaders family) invited us over for dinner. We were supposed to be in by 6 if we didn't have any appointments. But since they invited us over we were able to hang out at their house. They are really cool, and we had a good time at their house. The Next morning (Christmas) We woke up at the usual 6:30.. :( We made french toast and hash browns :) and open our presents from family. I got lots of food, clothes and some other stuff. So thanks to everyone that sent me gifts! We had church at 10:00 which was really good. Then we went home, and I got to call home. It was good to talk to everyone and hear about everything that has happened since I left. Then at 3:00 We went to a members home for Lunch/Dinner, and got to hang out there for a couple hours. They got us socks for Christmas.. haha and gave us a box of food. After that we went to another members home and talked to them and shared a Christmas message with them. So it was a good day.
Well here are a few of the things that happened this week.
I went on an exchange with one of our Zone Leaders on Tuesday. Since I am a new missionary and new to the area, I would usually not stay in the area for an exchange, but they decided to have me stay, and plan for the day etc. and decide where we go and who we met with. AHHHHH, I was so nervous and stressed out the entire day. Because a lot of our appointments canceled and I don't know the area or people that well. And when your on an exchange they are also kind of judging you in a way to make sure you are doing things right etc. Anyways the day turned out just fine. We ended up finding two new investigators. And everything seemed to work out. It turns out Elder Boehme, who I was on the exchange with, Knows Danny Harding and his family. Which is pretty cool.
So I told you about that lady that we met on the side of the road a while ago. She loves Mormons and has been so excited to meet with us and to go to church. But things keep getting in the way and we haven't been able to meet with her. Well we FINALLY met with her on Thursday. We taught her the restoration, with a Spanish pamphlet, because she speaks some English but she can clearly understand everything we say. I invited her to be baptized and she accepted!!!! YES. And we didn't even have to ask her to read the Book of Mormon everyday. She told us that when we leave she is going to read the book every night. etc. It was soooo cool.
Since its the holidays we haven't had very many people that want to meet with us. So we have been doing a lot of knocking/tracting.... Which I'm not a huge fan of. Because everyone just says they are catholic and not interested. But we handed out a ton of pass along cards. And every now and then people will tell us that they really like what we are doing and that they respect us for what we do. Which is cool.
Oh and on Christmas eve. we were eating in Subway (we have around $50 in Subway cards from members! I love subway!) and a guy walked in a asked if we drove the silver Toyota in the parking lot. We said yes, and he said he just watched a guy back into our car and leave. But he wrote down his license plate luckily. Our car had minor damage, cracked headlamp and the bumper was a little scratched. The drivers are crazy here in New Jersey!!!
Well I don't have anything else to say. But thank you to everyone that has wrote me and that sent me Christmas cards!! You are all awesome!!
Hope everyone has  an awesome New Years Eve and Happy New Year!!!
hint: I LOVE getting letters and pictures! ;)

Love, Elder Jeremy Jensen
