MTC 11-9-11 P-Day Email
Hows it going?
It's Finally P day for me. i dont have a whole ton to write cause i
just sent you a letter yesterday. and i only have about 20 mins left on
the computer. The MTC is good, I've learned a lot so far. We've had a
lot of fun. My district is really cool, we all get together really well.
I was going to attach some pics but these computers are super locked
down and wont read my card reader. So i will send you a few that i got
printed. We have something called TRC, it's where we go teach people
that the church has hired to act like investigators. They try to make it
real, so the room we are in has like a couch and pics on the wall etc.
Anyways we had this guy the other day that in real life was not LDS. And
we had heard from people that had taught him before that he is a big
bible basher etc. Great! :( So we didn't really know what to expect.
Anyways loooong story short the beginning of the lesson went well, but
then he started asking hard/deep questions. and we got waaaay of topic.
we tried to bring it back by challenging him to read the Book of Mormon and to pray
about it. And didn't want to cause he felt like he had no reason to do
that. By the end of the lesson he was literally yelling at us and saying
how we were pressuring him to read a book that he didn't want to read.
He said he had no interest in the mormon church or our book. And that he
was only here because his friend that worked at the MTC wanted him to
be here. We were really close to telling him that we had no reason to
come back if he felt that way. but we didn't know if we could or not. He
said that we can come back but that we have to read and talk about the
bible and nothing about the Book of Mormon... yeah we walked out pretty depressed.
But the next night we had a REALLY GOOD lesson with a less active old
lady. Except I'm pretty sure that she really was a member in real life.
But the lesson went Great! which made up for the one that didn't. Crazy to think that i've been here for a week! the new missionaries
came in today. its pretty weird. I will have to look for Rickey. We
have a lot of fun in my room, (we have a cool room) so everyone comes
in and we talk or play some games. My companion is a total country boy.. hahah
and he is so funny. He is always talking about hunting and about trucks
etc. He brought his cowboy boots and he is always looking for an excuse
to wear them. Food here is good, im trying to eat a lot and gain as much
weight as possible.
Dad- We do have gym everyday. I usually run or use the bike or one
of the machines up there. My companion usually does the same, or we
switch companions if we want to do different stuff. And since i'm
district leader i'm the one that gets to approve switching companions.
There are big windows at the top of the gym where you run or use the
machine, and i can see the Marriott building and the BYU TV building, its
really weird to look out there and know that a lot of my friends are
living really close to me and could even be in the buildings that i'm
looking at. We had a MTC devotional last night. We had Eduardo Gaverret
from the 70 come. It was pretty good. Me and Elder Danny Harding see
each other often usually when we eat. But i just barely saw him before i
started writing this. I need MORE letters! So Friends, Family write me!
:) We've got one Elder in our district that gets like 3 or more letters
everyday. haha it like a competition. Use Dearelder.com while i'm in the
MTC. Cause its free to send it here, and i will get it same day. Also
send me some pics and fill me in on whats going on.
Well got to go i'm out of time.
Love,
Elder Jensen :)
