yo yo yo. How is everybody?
It's pretty exciting that Elder Ballard is coming today and tomorrow to your Stake Conference. So we had a good week! Nothing to exciting, but we got a lot done.
I'm liking the whole emailing friends thing, I've got a few email's from friends that don't normally write me or haven't wrote me in a while. But yeah i agree with you mom its nice to get a real letter. But now i can stay in touch with my friends on missions etc better.
So here's some of what we did:
Saturday - After we emailed etc in the morning we went over to Presidents house cause he needed help connecting his PC i just fixed to his wifi. So i helped him with that and his computer was having a few other issues that i fixed. We ended up staying over at his house for a few hours just talking to him etc. And he gave us cake and all sorts of stuff, it was pretty cool to just hang out with president.
Sunday - had church, choir, the mid singles invited us to their potluck Then we went over to Bishops house with all the Koreans for dinner. They have us over on the 3rd Sunday every month and give us Korean food. Then right after we went and taught the Armstrong Boys. We taught them the Plan of Salvation. It went pretty well. At the end of the lesson we found out that their dad had been telling them some not so true things about our church. So we started answering some of their questions and concerns. Their dad came in a joined in on the conversation, and we had a good talk about authority, popes, prophets and baptism. ;) It actually went well he was pretty open about everything. We only have a couple more times teaching them,
Monday - Ok so as you know Monday is our Game day. All the zone Leaders get on Google docs and fill in all their numbers and other info. Well guess what. Monday morning Google Docs was down!!! So we had to contact google to see what was up, cause all the Zone Leaders were calling in saying it wasn't working. Anyways it was down for a few hours, then google got it back up and running. But it was a big pain. I paid a bunch of bills for the mission. We worked on mission stats, then we had to take a companionship to their area. Then we went over to the Odions for dinner, they were really cool. Then we came back to the office. Did some stuff with the Assistants and President.
Tuesday - In the morning we went and picked up 4 new Subaru's for the mission. Did some work in the office, then went and ate out with some Elders in our District. The rest of the afternoon i worked on trying to finish my apartments project. We have around 100 apartments. And i had to read the leases for all of them, and put information about them in an excel sheet. But i finally finished it and put all the apartment stuff in all new folders and organized the file cabinet. We went over the Meaders for dinner. Then we went to mutual at the church and talked to a few people.
Wednesday - We had the Mission Conference Call in the morning - So since i don't have a lot of time i cant go into much detail about what president teaches us during those. but he's just been showing us how to use the study helps like the topical guide and JST etc. Wednesday was Rent day, So Elder Moyer our apartment coordinator came into the office and we went over the info for all the apartments and discussed the new apartments were opening etc. Also that day was the first day of Spring which means its Free Rita's Water Ice day!! So short explanation. Rita's a a really popular east coast thing. they have something called water ice over here, its like shaved ice but better. And they have all sorts of different flavors - sweedish fish, birthday cake etc. But they also have Custard that they put on the top with it. Anyways its really good and every year they give out free water ice on the first day of spring. so we went and got some. Then Elder Flake had a doctors appointment so we went to that. That came back to the office, then had dinner. So they are opening up a new apartment here in Broomall for the sisters that are gonna replace us. But Elder Moyer hasn't had time to find an apartment yet. And transfers is in a week and a 1/2. so we told him we would find one. so i searched for some on some websites and i found a good one, and called the Realtor up and got it all set up! So I've now "rented" my first apartment for the mission.
Thursday - had District Meeting in the morning. Did some office work. President came in and i talked to him about a few things - were replacing some of our sprint phones with AT&T and were getting some computers replaced in the office so he helped me figure out some of the details to do that. I'm in charge of making a list of all the area's that have bad sprint coverage and were going to switch their phones out for At&t so they have better service. After that we went and checked out the new apartment and we found the night before. Then had to take Elder house to an Auto shop. I made a new cover Photo for the Mission FB page. then we went over to the Baileys for dinner. We had corn beef and cabbage. My first time having that. it was pretty good.
Friday - It was our service day, we first did some office work. I have to make a list of all the bishops in our mission (around 80ish) so that we can send them Mission Stats reports every-week So we have a church website that has a lot of the info, but a lot of the bishops didn't have their emails listed. So were going to have all the missionaries get their bishops emails and have them report it with their numbers on Sunday night. For service we went down to new castle to see Elders Brown and Wilcock. they are the ones that lived with us for a few days, they needed some stuff for their new apartment. We eventually got back to the office, did some work. then had dinner etc.
Saturday - today i cut my hair, we ordered dominoes cause its 50% today if you order online. Then were going to 52nd street in Philly, they have a ton of street vendors. Well that's about it. This week is when we will start to get busy. Transfers are April 2nd. Were opening 6 new apartments (areas) we have 25 new missionaries coming out i think. It's gonna be another big transfer! And its gonna finally be in the 50's this week! yay.
chow!
