Oct. 1st, 2012

Hey!                                                                                                                   Oct. 1, 2012

How's it going? It's October! Isn't that crazy! And guess what tomorrow is.... 11 Months!!! And one month from tomorrow is... 1 Year! Weird!!
Ok here's the week: Monday - P Day, Mom I used one of those Little Caesars certificates so I got a pizza for free for lunch that day. Me and Elder Bury both had a lot of letters to write so we were on our way to a park so we could focus and write all of them. On our way to the park a member called us and asked for us to come over. We were super close to his house so we stopped by. He needed some help with his phone. So we started helping him and we ended up having to call customer support and all kinds of stuff and it ended up leaving us with 30 minutes left in our P day... So we didn't get to write any letters! But that night we went to the Keays for dinner, they are an older less active couple. They like to have us over for dinner even though they aren't super interested in the church. But during the lesson we were able to get Sister Keays to say she would come back in the next few weeks. Its more the husband that isn’t so interested. After the Keays we went over to the Houses. Tuesday - We helped Brother Hinkel out in the morning. We went with him over to the Hess's to get some wood and bricks they didn’t want since they are moving.  Then Brother Seguine came with us to teach Kathy. We taught her the Restoration and we committed her to come to church, and she did!! That afternoon we had interviews with President Schaefermeyer. We were a little late because there was a lot of traffic through Allentown. But the interview was good. I had to recite D&C 4 to Sister Schaefermeyer - Thank you priest quorum. That night we had dinner with the Hinsdales. They are an active member family. Then we taught Brother Liddle about Temples and Family History. Wednesday - We did a little knocking in the morning, to see if we could find some new people. That night we had dinner with the Waters - the couple from BYU. Then we went over to the Seguines after to teach them. Thursday - We had district meeting. Then we went over to help the Hess's move. We helped them load up their trailer, and we got to talk to them about the branch, because they know so much about the people here. Were really sad to see them go. She is the Relief Society President and he is the acting Elders Quorum President.  Friday - We went and weed wacked Trisha's yard, then we headed over to Bruce's house. So Bruce just bought a new 20-inch planer. We helped him unload it last week. It was like 900 pounds. But you can send a really big board through and it will sand off a layer. It is really cool. He is putting a wood floor in his top level, and he had a bunch of 18-inch boards that he wants sanded down. So we helped him send those through. It's an awesome machine. We also had lunch with him. That night we met with Gary. He is doing good. We taught him lesson 3 - the Gospel. After that we went across the street to teach the Coull's. Brother Coull isn't a member, so we teaching him and his wife also, who is a member. Brother Haws our Branch Mission leader came with us to that. We read the Book of Mormon with them. Saturday - We went back over to Bruce’s to help Trisha with her website. It's almost done! Check it out https://www.tcullen.com.  After that we helped Bruce more with planning those boards. Later that day we went and helped Brother Hinkel load a new saw into his trailer and helped him unload it etc. Then spent the night in Emmaus. Ok Sunday - Gary wasn’t able to make it to church again... He said because of back pain. But… 3 non-members showed up to church, they are friends with some members and they just decided to come to church! They weren’t even invited; they just saw the member’s good example and wanted to check the church out. They came to our gospel principles class and the wife asked lots of questions. The lesson was on Baptism, which went really well. We were able to teach them about the Book of Mormon during the lesson. We gave her a Book of Mormon and gospel principles manual. She was pretty interested! She said she was planning on coming back next week! The husband wasn’t as interested so I don’t know if he will come back. But I’m sure we will be meeting with them soon! Sunday night we saw the Seguines and then went over to the Houses. We read the tree of life with the kids, and had them draw it while we read it. They liked that.
Well that was it for the week, I think the leaves will be changing really soon. I will get some good pictures!! I’m going on exchange with Elder Carraway our District Leader this Wednesday. He is pretty cool so I’m sure that will go good. I’m glad Jared had a good time at Homecoming, sounds like it was a TON of fun. I didn’t ever hear if PG won the Homecoming Game? Leslie dropped us for real earlier in the week, not completely sure why. But I think we will be in contact with her in the Future.
Have a great week! Good hearing from you guys. Enjoy General Conference!!! Were not sure yet where we are going to watch it. I think one of the Saturday sessions were going to the Seguines. Probably go to the Church for the 1st Sunday session.
Watch all the Bible Videos and Mormon messages!! They are all way good. Oh and I’m a little more then halfway done with Jesus the Christ.
